Mumbai: Girl Writes 10th Board Exam From Ambulance
A student appeared for her SSC exam while lying down in an ambulance for more than two hours with a writer seated opposite her.
While most students are scared of exams and look for ways to dodge the exams, Mubashshira took an exam lying in an ambulance.
Mubashshira Sayyed, a student of grade 10 from Dr MIJ Girls High School in Bandra, after completing her on 17th March 2023 was crossing the road when a car hit her around 1.30 pm on Hill Road, Bandra. She was immediately taken to the hospital by her batchmates and the driver of the car. Doctors advised her to take a complete bed rest for two weeks.
Saba Patel, principal of Anjuman-I-Islam’s Dr MIJ Girl’s High School, said they had a word with Mubashira and her family members at the hospital. “As she is a bright student, all the teachers hoped that she would appear for the remaining papers. We then started the formalities.” When board secretary Subhash Borase was contacted, he gave permission to allow the girl to write her paper in an ambulance. She was carried and made to lay in the ambulance that reached her exam center. She finished her paper from 10 am to 1.15 pm. Her writer helped her to write the answers. Sister Arockiammal Anthony, agreed to supervise the two students inside the ambulance, even as a cop and a peon waited guard outside. She gave her exam while lying down in an ambulance for more than two hours with a writer seated opposite to her. She will appear for the remaining two papers in the same way. A student from grade 9 volunteered to be her writer.
When asked about her experience, she said that it was very different from the regular way of writing an exam. Instead of writing down your thoughts on a piece of paper, you have to narrate it out loud, but she was very grateful and happy that she got to write her exam. She will not have to waste a year because of an accident.
Similarly, 22-year-old Rukmini Kumari delivered the baby in the morning and just after three hours, she appeared for the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) matric exam. Doctors and family members asked her to take rest upon delivery but she refused and insisted on appearing for the exam.
