PM Modi Twitter Account Hacked

Yesterday on 3rd September, the personal Twitter account of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s personal website was hacked. Twitter confirmed the news. This account has over 2.5 million followers. After the account was hacked one tweet posted on the account said, “I appeal to you all to donate generously to the PM National Relief Fund for Covid-19, Now India begin with crypto currency, Kindly Donate eth to0xae073DB1e5752faFF169B1ede7E8E94bF7f80Be6.” Another tweet was posted which said, “Yes this account is hacked by John Wick ([email protected]), We have not hacked Paytm Mall.”

Twitter said that it has taken "steps to secure the account" and is "actively investigating" the situation.

Fortunately, PM Modi’s personal account @narendramodi, was not hacked. This account has over 61.8 million followers on Twitter. He is one of the most famous world leaders on Twitter. There was a similar incidence in July when the Twitter accounts of famous personalities like Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Bill Gates, etc. were hacked. The hackers posted messages on the hacked accounts and requested the public to send a certain amount. The hackers declared that the amount would be doubled.

When Twitter came to know about the incidence, first Twitter locked all the affected accounts. Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey announced that an investigation is going on.
